As the name suggests, at ”Paper and Tea” a combination of two luxury goods awaits you: fine and exclusive paper-products and handpicked teas, that also make great souvenirs from Berlin. Additionally you can get everything for your tea party here, even top-quality tea sets.
Paper and Tea – a Stylish Souvenir
The combination of paper and tea may seem a bit weird at first, but we’re sure it will charm you once you’re there. Do you need a personal gift (like, let’s say, high-quality Matcha or Darjeeling with roses plus a great greeting card as souvenirs from Berlin) or do you want to give yourself a treat? Just head to one of the two stores of Paper and Tea (Bleibtreustraße/Alte Schönhauser Straße) and decide later.
The simple but chic interior of the shops pleases the eye as well as the wrapping of the teas and the pretty greeting cards, notebooks and diaries that came all the way from hand-picked paper manufacturers spread over the whole world. But forget your eyes and concentrate on your nose: The odor of all those teas evaporating from the boxes is simply great.
Feel Free to Touch
It’s a haptic pleasure to touch the hand-made paper and top-quality tea sets. Japan, China or England, fine china, glass or pottery – every cup has been personally picked on one of the many trips the owners made and guarantees a vivid sensation. You wouldn’t want to drink the fine teas offered here out of a plastic cup.
Take a Sip
If you don’t overdo it, you can have a free sample and taste the tea before you buy it. This way you’ll always know what the souvenir for your granny tastes like 😉 And you won’t regret it – the explosion of flavors is beyond description, if you try let’s say a real Japanese Sencha.
A specialty of the store in mid-Berlin (Alte Schönhauser Straße) is a shelf named “Wall of Tea”, offering 7 meters worth of teas of all kinds. White Teas, Green Teas, lesser known Yellow Teas, Oolongs, Black teas, and Pu Erh Teas don’t let enough space for Herbal Teas, that had to move to the opposite wall.
So make your choice (hard enough, we know) and then deal with the size: small and easily affordable or do you go for the big box?
