Party in the Park with Puto Production – a True Berlin Experience

Granted: the city that never sleeps is New York. But you can also party all night and day in Berlin – if you want to. Especially Friedrichshain, Kreuzberg and Neukölln are the destinations for proper ‘all-nighters’. However, if you are looking for a real open-air party in Berlin, make your way to the Mauerpark─because on Sundays, there is not only one of Berlin’s largest flea markets going down in the park, but also a barely known open air concert par excellence: starting in the late afternoon, Puto Production spread fun and outstanding rhythms throughout the park and amongst its visitors. Loud, joyful beats─seemingly electronic, but actually created with drums and percussion. That’s partying in the park to live and 100 per cent original dance music.

Thai Park – Best Thai Food in Berlin

2. September 2015
Thaiwiese Überblick

Every weekend, on sunny days at least, the Preußenpark in Berlin Wilmersdorf turns into the Thai Park. Underneath colourful umbrellas, Thais offer the fruits of their culinary skills. Authentic Thai food in Berlin.

The Thai Park is a piece of Thailand in Berlin

Whenever I think of Thai food, I immediately remember the tiny little, mobile cookshops by the roadside with their simple but delicious dishes. That is, since I spent some time in Thailand two years ago. There was simply nothing better, if you wanted something quick and cheap to eat. These old ladies behind the hotplates were often the only calming influence in the throngs of people. There were no language barriers, I could simply point. And with my decision to keep hands off of meat for the rest of the stay after a long long night, my upset stomach was a thing of the past.

Turkish Sweets at Confiserie Orientale

Bonbongläser auf Tresen mit Lokum

As is well-known, Berlin is the home of the Döner. But most do not know that Turkish sweets are also very tasty and appealing. So why not enjoy a Döner-meal followed by a well assorted variety of sweets while you are in Berlin? We’re sure you won’t regret it!

Turkish Sweets in the Middle of Berlin

For a few years now, new and trendy restaurants offer Turkish cuisine that is widely unknown by the German public. A shiny example is chic Confiserie Orientale in mid-Berlin. Its specialties are Turkish sweets like marzipan and Lokum, traditional confectionery made from sugar-syrup, cornstarch, rose-water, pistachios, coconut-flakes and various fruit-extracts.

The Most Silent Park in Berlin Mitte: Krausnickpark

21. August 2015
Rote Hängematten im Park

Krausnickpark is located in turbulent mid-Berlin between the New Synagogue and Hackescher Markt (Hackescher market). It is a jewel for foot-weary tourists and stressed-out Berliners alike: it does not only offer quiet and solitude, but also public-use hammocks.

Probably the Most Unknown Park in Berlin

The metallic doors close with a loud creak, the sound of my steps echoes from the walls of the houses I just pass by and then … solitude begins. Along hedges of brambles I amble into the depth of the park, where I can see old trees with wooden swings, flower-beds, winding paths and sun-streaked lawns. There are two playgrounds with children playing their games and everything is guarded by an army of colorful balconies.
